I am back after a really busy and tiring weekend which kept me away from the blog (apologies). But, its Monday and I am back 🙂 .
I read this article in the Guardian today and I was appalled and confused at the same time. This is about an 11-year Christian-Muslim girl in Pakistan who might face death penalty for burning some pages of the holy book of Islam, Quran.
Some reports say that the girl, Rimsha Masih, is mentally impaired but it hasn’t been proved yet. This incident has strained the already tensed relations between the Muslims and Christians in Pakistan and most of the people from Rifta’s community, including her parents, have fled. This article also throws light on certain examples in the past where the country’s severity towards cases of blasphemy had been witnessed.
